How long should my hair be?

Best results happen with hair at least 1/4" in length (the length of a grain of rice). If you have never had hair removal before, and/or have been shaving, we need a minimum of 2 weeks growth.

Can I be sugared if on Accutane or Retin-A?

These both exfoliate and/or thin the skin.  Accutane must be completely stopped for six months prior  to sugaring, and Retin-A is on a individual basis and requires a patch test.  We take your health very seriously, and require your full disclosure in order to prevent adverse skin reactions.

Is there anytime I should not get Sugared?

Skin thinning medications like Retin- A, laser treatments, or chemical peels are contraindications. Also we cannot sugar over moles, cold sores or broken skin.

Can I get sugared while I'm pregnant?

Of course!  It's totally safe at that time, as sugar is a much more body safe product than petroleum based waxes.

Will my skin react to sugar if it has reacted to wax in the past?

Some people will get a histamine reaction similar to waxing.  Usually it's less, and your skin isn't damaged.  It's the body's reaction to having the hair totally removed.  If you are concerned or have had this reaction in the past, taking an anti-histamine may alleviate this reaction.

What should I do after being sugared?

For 24 hours after your appointment, please keep the skin clean and free from friction.

Avoid tanning for 48 hours. Your skin is exfoliated after sugaring which increases your chances of sunburn or sun damage.

Begin daily exfoliation 48 hours after your appointment.

What happens if I have to reschedule or cancel?

Sugar Sugar is an appointment based business. When appointments are cancelled without sufficient notice we are often unable to fill that space with another client. We require 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule. If you do not provide this notice, you will be charged 50% of the booked appointment cost. If you fail to cancel and don't show for your appointment, the full amount will be charged.

Thank you for your understanding!
